The Big Sky Project

The Big Sky Project

The Big Sky Project contemporary power trio blends Blues, Funk, Rock, and traditional music into a musical product that could be best described as Americana Rock.

TBSP hit the scene mid 2007 by performing live in various music venues in the Columbus Ohio area. Since then, TBSP has recorded two studio albums, won a central Ohio battle of the bands, and has performed regionally in Ohio, Kentucky, and North Carolina, which earned them air time in North Carolina, write ups in the Springfield OH Newspaper, and several promotions in Columbus' local papers.

Prior to forming The Big Sky Project, some of the band members had been performing in Ohio and neighboring states for years. Upon departure of John Ohalek in 2008, the power trio replaced the drummer with Matt Hopkins, a talented percussionist with several years of live performance experience under his belt.

Venues/Clubs that the band has played include Ruby Tuesday, Scarlet and Grey Café, The Thirsty Ear, Whiskey Dicks, Phoenix Hill, and The Boiler Room.
